Social Network for Kids?

Rod Liberal

ScuttlePad is a new social networking site aimed at kids.

In other news, internet child predators posted increases in belief in Santa Claus higher than Android sales.

Scuttle Pad claims it will help your children learn the ins and outs of social networking in a safe environment and it’ll even ask for the parents’ email address to help them monitor usage.  Communication is done via words picked out for the child as they type to prevent foul language and/or inappropriate content.

While I’m not jumping on the gun and creating my 7-year-old an account, I’m curious to see this develop.  Facebook is a cesspool of criminals (well, most of my friends are, anyway), so it’s nice to see a place attempting to allow kids to safely interact on the web.
